FM Gyawali addresses the regional conference of Nepali Ambassadors based in Europe, advises to explore new opportunities

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has advised Nepali ambassadors based in Europe to explore new opportunities of promoting Nepal’s national interests with special focus on economic engagements.

Addressing the Regional Conference of Nepali Ambassadors based in Europe in Brussels, Belgium on Saturday, he also asked them to orient their efforts towards promoting the national interest.

He highlighted the importance of Nepal’s relations with the European countries, EU Institutions, United Nations and international organizations to which Nepali missions are accredited and underscored the need to further strengthen Nepal’s cooperation with them.

FM Gyawali said that the main focus of Nepal’s diplomacy was to promote its image at the international level including through its own ‘narrative of unique and home-grown peace process’.

‘In addition to this, our diplomatic mechanism needs to contribute to our development efforts at home,’ he said.

All nine Nepali ambassadors attended the conference made presentations on activities and initiatives of their missions. They also shed light on available potentials for enhancing Nepal’s cooperation with the respective countries and international organizations.
